Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC Gets Major Expansion

CD Projekt RED has announced a substantial expansion to Cyberpunk 2077's critically acclaimed Phantom Liberty DLC, adding 15 hours of new story content and introducing advanced cybernetic enhancement systems that will fundamentally change how players experience Night City.

New Story Campaign

The expansion, titled "Digital Ghosts," continues the story of V's involvement with the NUSA and introduces a new threat emerging from the depths of the Net. Players will work alongside returning characters while encountering new faces voiced by industry veterans.

The narrative explores themes of digital consciousness and AI evolution, building on the philosophical questions raised in the base game. Multiple branching storylines ensure that player choices have meaningful consequences throughout the campaign.

Enhanced Cybernetics System

A completely redesigned cybernetics system allows for deeper character customization than ever before. Players can now install neural processors that affect dialogue options, install optical enhancements that reveal hidden environmental details, and equip advanced combat implants with unique upgrade trees.

Performance Improvements

The expansion includes significant engine optimizations that improve performance across all platforms. Ray tracing has been enhanced for more realistic lighting in indoor environments, while DLSS 3.5 support provides better frame rates without sacrificing visual quality.

Release Information

Digital Ghosts will be available as a free update for all Phantom Liberty owners starting January 15, 2025. The expansion requires the base Cyberpunk 2077 game and the Phantom Liberty DLC to access the new content.
